The IELTS exam gives an accurate, up-to-date assessment of a candidates' level of English. The exam covers 4 language skills: listening with comprehension, reading, writing and speaking.
Candidates can take 2 different modules: the General Training Module and the Academic Module, depending on the purpose of the exam.
IELTS has a clear evaluation system: test scores are from 0 to 9 points.
The exam is valid for two years, so the institution you are about to study or work at is sure that the exam results accurately show your current English knowledge.
The IELTS test is recommended for advanced students (minimum entry level 6 - Upper Intermediate) who:
are over 16 years of age,
are planning to go on an Erasmus placement,
want to study or work abroad, especially in English-speaking countries such as Great Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or the United States,
want to secure an immigration visa to Canada, Australia and New Zealand,
work or want to work in future at the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs or in the state administration.
Listening - 30 minutes
Reading - Academic or General Training (Reading) - 60 minutes
Writing - Academic or General Training (Writing) - 60 minutes
Speaking - 11 - 14 minutes
Due to students' wanting different modules, grades and having different time preferences, we offer individual lessons or group courses with a small number of students, most often between 2 and 4. Prices for groups vary depending on numbers; the greater the number of students the less expensive the course.
We recommend a preparatory course of at least two months, usually just before the examination date at the British Council in Brno.
A standard course is 2 x 90 minute lessons per week.
The exam fee is not included in the course price.
The IELTS test results are valid for 2 years.
ILC IH Brno students have a discount of 3%.
