The intensive English course is a full-time daily program designed primarily for recent high school graduates. Over the course of one academic year, students fully immerse themselves in English – every day, for several hours, in small groups and under the guidance of experienced teachers.
The teaching style is practical, dynamic, and focused on real-life situations, helping students learn the language as it is actually used. It’s not just about textbooks – we explore topics that interest students and help them improve both their language skills and confidence.
This course is more than just improving your English. Our goal is to help students get into their dream universities in the Czech Republic or abroad, or to prepare for working abroad. That’s why our courses are designed to help students successfully pass a prestigious Cambridge English certificate exam by the end of the year – opening up new opportunities.
By enrolling in the intensive English course at ILC and submitting your high school diploma, you automatically gain official student status. This brings a number of benefits, including tax advantages and paid health and social insurance.
As a student, you’re entitled to an ISIC card, which gives you discounts on public transport, travel, food, cinema, theatre, and more… in short, being a student pays off.
You’ll gain strong language confidence because English will become part of your daily routine. Practically every day, you’ll be training, speaking, and using the language intensively.

The program focuses on the intensive development of all language skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing. Classes take place every weekday and place strong emphasis on the practical use of language during lessons.
Students are placed into balanced groups according to their language level based on an entry test. We use a communicative teaching method that puts the student in the spotlight. Lessons follow CEFR standards, use British textbooks, and are led by CELTA-certified instructors.
The program also includes continuous progress assessment and the opportunity to prepare for Cambridge English exams (KET, PET, FCE, CAE).
